Effective Political Ad of the Day: Engagement Citoyen went hardcore with their Vote or Die-esque “get out the vote” campaign ahead of yesterday’s historic elections in Tunisia.

“The return of Ben Ali” features a familiar Big Brother poster of ousted dictator Zine El Abidine Ben Ali meant to enrage people into pulling it down, revealing a stern reminder underneath: “Beware: Dictatorship can return.”

It seems to have worked: BBC News reports that over 90% of registered voters visited their local polls to cast a ballot in the first democratic election of the first Arab Spring nation.
